Lost In Blue: Shipwrecked: Review

Today I'm going to review a game I've had for a while called Lost in Blue: Shipwrecked. Most, if not, all of you haven't heard of this game, that's available online and in some stores.

What it is
Lost in Blue: Shipwrecked is a survival game for the Wii. You start off as the son of a cruise ship employee. At some point, you go and help him organize a party elsewhere on the ship. At some point, you return to your room to call it a night. As you are falling asleep, alarms blare and a voice comes on and states that there is a fire on the ship. You quickly get into a lifeboat with your pet monkey (yes, this is a Japanese game) and sit down. As the lifeboat starts to leave, you get a glimpse of a young woman fighting with an employee.

A few seconds after the lifeboat gets started, it breaks down. You volunteer to repair it. As you are checking out what seems to be the problem, you fall overboard, only to be swept away. A crew member throws you buoyant briefcase, that you and your monkey manage to hold on to. At that point, the game begins.

You start off on a tiny island that is basically a tutorial. I won't go through much of it. You see that the island is deserted, so you wonder if the island across from you has anyone on it. You manage to use the briefcase to build a raft to send you to the next island.

Progressing into the game, you find abandoned places, complex puzzles, new people, new areas, new items, and a more complicated storyline as the romance, mystery and adventure begins to show.

Story: 7.5/10
The storyline is an interesting one, but it is repetitive of its predecessors. It is because of this and some nonsensical twists to the story that makes it a 7.5.

Music and Sound: 6.5/10
The music in this game loops but varies and suits the area that it's used in. The music can be annoying and it is low quality, though. The sound was pretty good in this game, with the exception of the voiceovers, which are only text 3/4 of the time. And the voiceovers weren't very well put together.

Here is an example of a song from the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeoUk5omy4I&feature=c4-overview&list=UU5H5RgHRBG4JCCY4frW2Row

Graphics: 3/10
I found the graphics in this game to be really bad. The people who made the graphics only made them so that you can make out what the object is, and even then you can have problems. The characters aren't very human-like. They possessed some human traits, but really they weren't very realistic. I found it very hard to see the game during the rain, and although I liked when it randomly rained in the game, it wasn't easy getting around in it.

Gameplay: 8.5/10
Shipwrecked's gameplay is outstanding, with the exception if the stat maintenance. You can really feel like you're stranded on an island (just not with the graphics). The gameplay, with the exclusion of the stat meters, is very realistic. There are random storms, eating certain things (fish, mushrooms, etc.) all have different effects on you, character interaction exists, there are varying minigames and objects wash up ashore. The only thing that makes an 8.5 not a 10 is the STAT MAINTENANCE. Every few seconds you are on the verge of death due to lack of sleep, water and food. You could sleep for a few days straight, drink water every few minutes, and have an all-you-can-eat buffet every half an hour, and all of your characters are dying only a few minutes later. It's ridiculous. Too ridiculous. Another note: the AIs are very stupid in this game, and I mean VERY stupid.

Overall: 6.5/10
This game gets a 6.5 out of a possible 10 for me because even though Lost in Blue: Shipwrecked has sentimental value to me, and there is great gameplay and storyline, but stupid AIs, poor graphics and lousy stat maintenance bring this game down to this point. This is one of those games that you should think about before buying, but I would definitely recommend you to try the game if this sounds interesting to you.

News: Written by Victoria

Okay everyone, I've decided to postpone the team blog post project, to January.

The reason being is that I literally have no time to make the kind of post that I'd like to on the subject that we picked, so I thought I'd let you know about that.

Also, I know that this blog isn't the best right now, but I'm working on making it worth your time to read.

I've decided that 8:00 a.m. is the best time for me to make posts, so that's the time it will be.

The time that my blog members post will be different, because as I've said before we all go by different time zones.

We'll there you go, that's the news for today, if you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave them.

Which one? By: Victoria

Okay, the topic that I think is best and that anyone can relate to from the suggested subjects listed in the comments, from my last post is, love. (That's sort of hard to say all at once)

So that's the subject my blog members and I are going to write a post on, it may take us a few days, we'll still continue to make posts on a daily basis, but at our own preferred times, because we all go by different time zones! So that's the news for today, if you have any questions or comments fill free to leave them and let us know what you think!!

Thank you!

An Idea! By: Victoria

So, yesterday I came up with an idea I'd like to share with everyone.

I thought it would be interesting for myself and the three other people that run this blog as well, to pick a subject, and for each of us to write a post about it.

So that everyone can see the subject from four different points of view.

If you blog readers think that this is a good idea and you'd like to see this happen, tell us in the comments and you can also leave your subject ideas in the comments too and we'll decide in the next day or so which one we'll post about.

Thank you: Everyone!! :)

Teacher's can be weird: By Suzanne Klare

I always watched Ned's Survival Guide when I was little. I liked the storyline a lot, and I thought it was pretty funny. I also thought that all of those teachers weren't as bad as they seemed. Buuuut then there is high school. I discovered there are actually teachers that are kind of... weird.

So, I'll tell you guys about some of them.

My Dutch teacher:

She is a horrible witch with the weirdest clothing I have ever seen. Seriously, when you didn't do your homework and you have a perfectly good reason, she still gives you detention. Also, when you tell her you didn't do your homework, she looks at you with this glare that could churn blood. Just so you guys know, I'm not exaggerating. And how she dresses! I'm not a fashion expert, but she once wore BANANA EARINGS to school. Also, a lot of pink. She reminds me of this woman right here:

My biology teacher:

This guy doesn't know how to be ashamed. Seriously, this happened a few months ago.

Teacher: Some women like men with chesthair, and some don't. I have chesthair, and my wife LOVES it.

Me: (no one needs to know)

Girl sitting next to me: (ABORT MISSION ABORT)

He also tells us about his own sexual expierences. I'm not gonna give an example of that.

My math teacher:

I really really really really really really hate this guy. Reasons:

-He's really mean. One time, I had an 8.8 out of 10 for math, and that's a really good grade. So I'm like: Yes, I've got an 8.8! Woohoo! You know what he says?

Well, don't be too pumped, because you still made some pretty stupid mistakes.

Oh, how much I hate him...

Reason 2:

He can't explain ANYTHING.

I went to him one time and asked if he could explain more and not just sit at his desk all the time and do nothing (not with those words), but nothing changed! He's still horrible at teaching.

My Ancient Lagnuages Teacher:

So, he's my favourite teacher out of everyone. He's good at explaining things, he's nice, and he tolerates a lot. He's just a bit... eccentric.

He looks like a Greek God: Not that he's handsome or anything, but he has a beard, he's tall, he's big, he has long, curling hair, and he says he's Zeus. Also he says that he has a Gorgon head in his bag so that, if someone doesn't obey the rules, he turns them into stone. He also tries to scare me all the time, but it never works :P

So these teachers are eccentric out here where I live! If you think this is pretty normal, then that's because I live in a boring country. Tell me about your worst teachers in the comments!

Also, sorry it took so long... those same teachers gave me too much homework to do :(

Loz windwaker: By William D

LoZ: WindWaker
Recently (not really that recently) Michael Gray, a.k.a Arglefumph did a walkthrough for this game. This is a game I grew up with, and I love it very much.

I feel as though Michael judged it unfairly. Grant it, the game may be a little bit drawn out in some areas, but the plotline seems pretty solid to me.
Link's sister is kidnapped by the Helmaroc King. These girls are being kidnapped by Ganon in an attempt to find the true Princess Zelda. Link, trying to save Ariel, goes to the Forsaken Fortress, and attempts to battle the Helmaroc King. Link is massively over powered, and painfully unskilled at this point, so he is flung out to sea. A boat (the King of Red Lions) rescues him, and take him on many a quest. Since this boat saved Link's life, Link trusts him and thus works on these quests. Eventually he saves his sister. Then he sails off into the sunset... literally... well sorta. :P

I'll admit there are some plot holes, such as "Why can't the King of Red Lions teleport as he can in human form?" but, you know, it's a Zelda game!!! What do you expect? Sheesh people stop the hating xD At any rate, most of the sailing in the game is rather boring and quite tedious. But I think it adds to the interest. Some questions that went through my head when I first played the game are: "What will this dungeon be like?" "What, if any, new monsters will there be?" "What's the new dungeon item!?!?!?!?!"

A lot of the sailing is unnecessary and it's only if you want, say, extra life. More rupees. Stuff like that.
Now, about the dungeons.

I think that the dungeon layouts were pretty good, but that's my opinion. The rooms all have their own unique design and challenge. You're never swarmed by monsters in the earlier dungeons, and even in the harder ones it's not that bad. I'm a very cautious player, I always like to snipe things from afar with my bow, or throw bombs :D xD It usually works pretty well. Each enemy has a uniques designing, as in all Zelda games. I'm not so sure about the very first boss though. I feel as if she is a bit overpowered for a beginner boss; and maybe that;s just me and I'm a massive noob.

Just for fun I'll list the bosses and tell what I thought of each one. Here they are:

Ghoma: She was very interesting, and I liked the way you defeat her, she seemed a bit over powered considering she could be very fast and breathe fire at you. Yah... xD overall, an interesting boss. Lovely design!!!!

Kalle Demos: Okay, maybe my favorite boss, Amazing detail, stunning animation, and it had the perfect difficulty level for that stage in the game. Overall, a wonderfully executed battle.

Gohdan: What can I say? Epic. Epic epic epic epiiiiic.
Helmaroc King: Oh my goodness, a beautiful boss. The design was exquisite, and it was like Kalle over there. Perfect amount of difficulty, amazing setting. Death sequence? Amazing. And you gotta love that tail and screech <3 xD Jahalla: ..... possibly, quite possibly, the weirdest boss I've ever fought in a Zelda game. It's a mask... with a bunch of tiny poes in it.... and it's fat. And it's weird. And it's.... It. Molgera: Ohmagawrsh the music. THE MUSIC IS AMAZING!!!! O_O <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 I love this boss and its music. Love it xD Puppet Ganon: (Puppet form) A strange battle, but interesting. (Spider form) Very fun, watching the reflection spin... Spinnnnyyyy o-o (Molgera form) ... I hate this battle.... so hard.... GAH >:O

Ganondorf: Amazing setting, the stage slowly flooding, (sorta XD) and all the while, the sound of water coming down around you. Epic. Truly Epic. The ending, amazing, but really sad.

Now for my favorite to least favorite:
Kalle Demos
Gohdan - Helmaroc King (tiiiie)
Puppet Ganon - Ganondorf (tie xP)

Okay, thanks for putting up with me, I'm sorry it took so long for me to make a post, but I have been beyond busy, and into the realm of slaving XD

Regular cigarette smoking increases your risk for many cancers, including:
• Lung
• Lip
• Oral cavity (tongue, mouth, and/or throat)
• Esophagus (the tube connecting the mouth to the stomach)
• Larynx (voice box)

These cancers are just a few of many things you can develop by smoking cigarettes. That normally end in fatal deaths.

Which proves:

So think about it!

What Phoenix Wright did to me: By Suzanne Klare

Ok, before you guys are getting perverted thoughts, the title is NOT what it looks like. I'm just gonna tell you what influence the PW games had on me.
For starters, the Phoenix Wright games are games where you're a lawyer. You need to find contradictions in other people's testimonies, find out who committed  the murder in every case (every single case is a murder case, for some reason), and prove your client not guilty. There are a lot of inside jokes, funny moments, weird witnesses, and of course, lots and lots of courtroom drama.
Well, I'm kind of addicted. Very addicted. Like, wow. It's my #1 fandom and it'll always be.
So there are a few things the games did to me:
1. I notice EVERYTHING
No, seriously. It's not even fun anymore. Every time I read a book, watch a movie, play a game, and it lacks a little bit of continuity, I sense it. Why? My brain searches for contradictions. Automaticaly. I'm not even kidding.
And because I see those contraditions in the story, I don't like it as much. I have the urge to send a letter to the maker, and say what's wrong with it.
2. It made me start shipping.
I never wrote fanfics or shipped anything in particular before the PW games. It all started with Narumayo. Aka, Phoenix/Maya.
Aaaand it went downhill from there.
I even ship people who're in games/programs/books/movies, when I'm not even in that fandom! I became a massive shipper from this game.
3. I know I'm not going to become a lawyer
I learned that lawyer's have a pretty though job. How much times has Phoenix been assaulted? And how many times did the girl closest to him (not headcanon, he said so himself), been in danger because of Phoenix being in contact with horrible criminals? And most of all, he's kind of broke. Lawyers don't get paid that much, apparently. :/

Well, that's it. I'm sorry for grammatical mistakes, but remember, I'm from the Netherlands.

Thank you for reading!

The Silent Spy and an idea: By Breanna;)

Well, I don't know about you, but I am real excited about The Silent Spy(The new Nancy Drew game) that's coming out. I've always wanted to know what happened to Nancy's mom and I just think it's going to be cool to finally find out. If you've checked Her-interactive's website, you've more than likely seen that the characters have been revealed and the official trailer is going up on youtube on Monday. Monday is also the day that pre orders begin. I can't wait :)

Here is the teaser trailer for the game, I think it's pretty cool, they sure did a good job at making the game sound interesting.

What do you think really happened to kate, I have my own thoughts on this subject, but I'd still love to hear what you think. So tell me in the comments.

Also, I'm thinking about doing a music video for an upcoming blog post of myself singing a beautiful song that I wrote, singing is my talent, I'm not trying to brag, but I'm very good at it and writing songs. So if you think it would be a good idea that I make a music video than tell me that in the comments too and I will ;)

Nyan Nightmare: By Suzanne Klare

Ohhhh... It's my turn, isn't it? I don't know anything to write about!
Wait, I have an idea! I'll put my Nyan Cat story on here! This is what I do when it's 1 am and I can't sleep.
Oh, and you guys probably won't get the references if I don't tell you, Wright? (stupid pun)
Ok, watch these two to know what I'm talking about:
Warning: There will be cursed in these video's.
Watched it? Good. Here's the story!
Nyan Nightmare
"Well, what did you think of that?"
Phoenix didn't know what to say. Maya had just showed him another weird YouTube video, the 5th that day, but this was just the stupidest thing he had ever seen. She was asking him what he He decided to be honest
thought about it. How was he going to respond that?
He decided to be honest
"Uhm, Maya, why did you show me a video of a random gay guy who calls every girl he meets a 'stupid biatch'?
"Because it's funny!"
"How in the world was that funny?! That was ridiculous!"
"Yeah! Ridiculously hilarious! Come on! That was genius. Nick, you just have bad taste."
"Uh-huh. Yeah, I'm the one with bad taste…"
He decided to change subject, because Maya was shooting daggers at him. Instead, he began about the only video she showed him he did like.
"But, you know, the grammar Nazi guy was funny…"
Instantly, Maya's eyes lit up. "Wasn't he? I loved that guy! His Dexter impression was great!"
"Uh, yeah, I guess…"
The only reason Phoenix did like that video, was because he often found grammatical mistakes when he was flipping through case files. He kind of wanted to make fun of it too, but he wouldn't be taken seriously if he would do that. He would never admit it, but he was a huge grammar Nazi.
To make sure Maya would forget about the bad taste thing, he tried an impression of the YGS guy. Surprisingly, he did a pretty good impression.
"I'm in collage", he said, grabbing a glass of orange juice that was still on the desk, and
Maya started laughing very hard, something which Phoenix never succeeded in earlier, because for some reason, Maya didn't like his puns. He felt kind of victorious. He began laughing too.
"What about the pop tart cat I showed you?", Maya asked, still giggling
"Y-you mean Nyan Cat?", he answered, with tears in his eyes from laughing.
"M-Maya?", Phoenix said. Maya suddenly had stopped laughing, and her eyes had grew wide. She was staring at Phoenix, with a horrified look in her eyes.
"Maya, w-what's wrong?"
"You said its name…", she said with the same terrified look in her eyes. "Why did you say its name…?"
"What, Maya, what are you ta-"
Before Phoenix could finish his sentence, there was a bright flash, and a big "bang", and the next moment Phoenix opened his eyes, he couldn't believe what he saw.
The whole room was gone. Well, it didn't, but it changed completely. The desk, the couch, the book shelves with the law books Phoenix never was going to read, everything was gone. He couldn't feel the floor under his feet, it was like he was floating.
Around him, he could only see the sky. A sky with a shade of dark blue, with thousands of stars that looked yellow to him, around him. But what he saw in front of him disturbed him the most
Maya wasn't there anymore. Well, she was, but not the normal Maya. She had undergone a complete transformation.
Her torso was changed into a huge hamburger, and her head had turned way bigger than it was before, and looked really cartoony. She had little, purple paws, and a rainbow of different colors of purple and pink was following her, and Phoenix had no idea where the trail began or ended, how it even was there.
Phoenix could hear the Nyan music coming from somewhere, he didn't know where from. Maya was kind of dancing to the music, hopping up and down, while leaving that trail of purple rainbow. That wasn't bothering him though.
He tried to sit, and it went surprisingly well for a floating person. He couldn't stop staring at the Myan Cat he created by just saying the name of YouKnowWho. It was weird, fascinating, pointless, beautiful, crazy, irritating, interesting, all at the same time.
Phoenix couldn't remember how long he was sitting there, looking at Maya. It could have been seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, years, millennia, but he couldn't really remember. All he could do was listen to the music, follow the fast movings of the cat-like creature he had made. Until suddenly, something snapped.
What am I doing? I got to get out of here, fast!
He tried to look around for a door, and when he looked around the room, he could see the handle of a hidden door, and he made a dash for it. He opened the door and ran outside. Without all the music and the stars around him, he could finally think clearly.
I need to get Maya back to normal. What am I going to do?
He decided he had to talk to someone about it, and the first one coming to mind was Edgeworth, so he hailed a cab, got inside, and asked if the driver could bring him to the prosecutor's office.
"Can do, pal."
Phoenix recognized that voice, and that 'endearing character trait' the cabdriver would always call it.
"Hey there, pal!"
"Since when are you a cabdriver? Last time I checked you were a homicide detective!"
"I had to get this extra job for paying the bills. With the pay cut I got last time, I'm happy I can afford instant noodles even with an extra job!"
They remained silent for about 10 minutes, but Gumshoe decided to break the silence.
"So… you look like you're in a hurry, pal. And where is Maya?"
"You won't believe me if I would tell you."
"Aww, come on, pal! I'll believe you!"
Phoenix didn't know what to think. Gumshoe would probably think him crazy after explaining that Maya changed into a giant flying cat. But, he decided telling wouldn't hurt him.
"Maya… transformed into a giant Nyan Cat"
Gumshoe looked at Phoenix in the mirror.
"Did you say Nyan C-"
There was a big flash again, the same one when Maya was turned into Myan Cat. He was in the same room where he tried to escape from earlier, but there was something slightly different.
There were 2 cats
Next to Maya there was another flying cat, and it was no one other than detective Gumshoe.
He had undergone exactly the same transformation as Maya, but then, a little bit different. Instead of a hamburger, Gumshoe had a bowl of instant noodles as a body, green-brownish paws, and he had a trail of rainbow with all sorts of green and brown colors.
Phoenix was dazzled for only a second, because he knew what he had to do. He ran to the doorknob he found out about earlier and left the former office quickly.
Once he was outside, he made a decision. He had to go to Edgeworth's office, and he was going to do that by himself. By bike.

After an hour he got (totally exhausted) at the prosecutor's office. He had to get to Edgeworth really badly, so he just threw his bike on the grass and ran inside.
"Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth's office, please.", he said to the receptionist
"12th floor, room 1202", she said, not paying much attention to the sweaty attorney who dashed through the door 5 seconds ago.
"Thanks", he said, noticing the nameplate of the receptionist. It read 'Jilly Baxter'. He didn't pay attention to that on that moment, but ran to the elevator and pressed on 12.
After he got out of the elevator, he searched for office 1202. Soon he found it, and discovered the door unlocked. He opened the door, and saw something he never expected.
Edgeworth was sitting at his desk, playing with Steel Samurai action figures. Phoenix knew they were, because he got Maya exactly the same. He was also not wearing his suit and cravat, but a T-shirt with the Steel Samurai on it, with a matching baseball cap.
"Wright? Wha-"
"Edgeworth, I need your help."
"But I was busy with these- uh – case files! Excuse me Wright", he said, quickly grabbing some paperwork he must throw of his desk, as it was lying on the floor.
"Whatever, Edgeworth, but I'm in serious trouble now. Pop-tart cat kind of trouble."
"Pop tart c- Wait, you don't mean?"
"Yes, I do, Edgeworth. I mean it.", he said, before starting to explain all that had happened that day.
"Wright, this is serious. How many times have you said That Name today?"
"Uhh.. I think only twice."
"Good. There's still a chance for you then. You need to get back to that room, and say the words, but backwards. You'll free Gumshoe and Maya then, and we can all say the words without our friends being turned into you-know-what's"
"So you want me to say Nyan Cat backwards?"
They both fell silent realizing what an idiot Phoenix turned out to be.
"Wright, you son of a-"
But he could never finish. For the third time, there was a bright flash, and Phoenix found himself in the space-like room again.
Edgeworth had turned into a cat too. His body a teacup, his paws red like his suit, and he was leaving a trail of red rainbow. That wasn't even the worst part.
He was floating in the middle of the room, and he was surrounded by cats. He could see everyone he had ever met turned into a cat, even the victims of his murder cases he had only seen the faces from. In case files were there, all turned into Nyan Cats. ALL OF THEM.
Phoenix knew this was something different. This was the thing Edgeworth warned him about. If you say the name for the 3th time, you're doomed. That didn't discourage Phoenix to run through the crowd for the doorknob he saw from a distance.
He got to the doorknob, and relieved, he grabbed it. There was just one problem.
The doorknob melted as soon as he touched it.
"No!", he screamed, and at that moment, he started hearing the music.
"Nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan…"
He turned around, to see all the former-human cats speeding to his corner of the room. The closer they came, the louder the music got.
"Nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan…"
"No! Please! G-get away from me!"
"Nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan…"
The cats were getting closer, and Phoenix was desperately stop them by yelling 'Objection!', 'Hold It!', and 'Take That', but it was no use. The Nyans were getting closer and closer…
Phoenix was surrounded by the cats. He could only see them, he got hypnotized by them as they were getting closer. Soon, he found his body going towards the cats, like a puppet who was dragged there by his puppeteer. The Cats were the puppeteers.
He looked, fascinated by everyone. He saw Edgeworth, Pearls, Gumshoe, Franziska, the Judge, and the biggest one, Maya, and he couldn't think anything else than those cats.
Once everyone came close enough, they jumped on Phoenix. When Phoenix was lying under everyone, he suddenly felt like himself again. He wondered why he had been so stupid ever agree with watching that YouTube video, because if he didn't, this never would have happened.
Then, there was a big flash again. It felt like Phoenix was dragged out of his body, like a ghost that had been channeled, but had to go back to his own world. Then, he saw the cats again.
They weren't paying attention to him, though. They were just flying through space, like never even happened. But then he saw the thing that horrified him the most of that day.
He saw a cat with spiky hair, a torso that looked like a chicken sandwich, red paws, leaving a trail of rainbow with all different shades of blue.
He had become one of them.

Phoenix woke up. He looked around him, and everything was back to normal. He was sitting at his desk, with his laptop before him. Suddenly, he remembered.
He had been watching the 10 hour long version of Nyan Cat, but had fallen asleep after 6 hours.
He wanted to make sure everything was normal, though.
"Maya!", he called
"Yes Nick?", Maya said, after coming out of the kitchen of the small office.
"Maya! Everything's back to normal… oh thank goodness"
"Uhm, Nick, what are you talking about?", she said confused.
Phoenix suddenly remembered what had been the cause of his nightmare
"Maya? Why in the world did you have to show me that Ny- I mean pop tart cat?"
"Wait, you mean Nyan Cat?"
"Argh! Don't say that name! We'll all be doomed! Waaaah!"
Phoenix ran out of the office, leaving a puzzled Maya behind him
How many toilets did that guy clean today?, she wondered.
Some of you guys may have read it already (yes, I'm talking about you, Willy ;P), so sorry for this :/

The Red Herring Fallacy Logic: By william D

Today I'm talking about the fallacy of Avoiding the Question, or The Red Herring.
(The following argument could apply to either boys or girls, but Im just doing it from the book. So
don't be offended)

Jenny: Girls are WAY smarter than boys. Bert: Oh yah. How do you know that? Jenny: Because they just are! Bert: But how do you know that? Jenny: Well there are lots of girls who are pretty smart, my neighbor Mrs. Jones is pretty smart. Joan of Arc saved the French from the English. And Marie Curie invented the light bulb! Bert: But how do you know they are smarter than boys!? Jenny: Because there are many girls who have high IQ's. That makes them smart! Bert: You still haven't answered my question! Why are girls smarter than boys? Jenny: Because I'm smart and your dumb. That proves it! Ok, guys, I see to flaws in her logic. Firstly Marie Curie did NOT invent the light bulb, Thomas Edison did. Also, she didn't answer his question, because she had no proof, she was trying to give answers that proved it, but she never talked about what men have done! Now this situation can be reversed. All she has proven is that some people are smarter than other people, Boys and Girls, Men and Women, there is no actual group that's smarter than the other! Many people never answer questions directly, and the other people in turn, don't think to ask about it, or realize that they hadn't had their question answered. Now for some of you wondering "What is a Red Herring?!" A Red Herring is something completely irrelevant to the subject at hand, such as the following argument: Jenny: Boys should always open the door for girls. Bert: Why should we? Jenny: Because it's helpful to us, and it's the gentlemanly thing to do. Bert: Why shouldn't girls open doors for boys, it would be as equally helpful. Jenny: Because it isn't right! When I came out of the store, I had to put ALL my bags down to open the door! You were to rude to come in and help me! Bert: But you said you didn't help and that you wouldn't get so many groceries! Jenny: Well you were inconsiderate to not have come in anyway. As you can see they are now completely and woefully off topic. Here is an example of something that ISN'T a Red Herring: Son: Father, what is the square root of 234.09667? Father: I don't know. Why don't you use a calculator? The Father here really doesn't know the answer. Ok guys, are you ready for you test? I hope so XD If it's a Red Herring, tell me in the comment section, I'm putting a twist on things, you need to tell me the answer, I'm not telling you anymore >:D Son: Why can't I see Day of the Spatulas with my friends? Dad: It's too scary, and you're too young to see such a scary movie! Son: Dad why can't I see Day of the Spatulas with my friends? Dad: Because January 1st is on a Wednesday. Son: Can I see Day of the Spatulas with my friends? Dad: I'm not sure, ask Mom! Son: Can I see Day of the Spatulas with my friends? Dad: No Son: Can I see Day of the Spatulas with my friends? Dad: Is it about Pancakes? Ok guys sorry about the enormousness of this post but what must be done, must be done! Until next time!

School and Bullies: By Suzanne Klare

Tomorrow, school starts again here in Holland. There are several reasons why I like and dislike that, and here's a list of them:

Dislike Reasons:
-Mean/weird/annoying teachers
-Mean/weird/annoying classmates
-Boring classes
-Boring class projects
-Horribly organized/boring school trips

Like Reasons:
-Friends who you see every day
-Do homework with your friends
-Pranking your teachers (The ones who you like and who like you back)
-Having fun inbetween lessons
-Being extra happy when you don't have any homework because you finished it all
-Drawing in your diary when you're bored in class
-Cool class projects
-Fun class trips

The like list is a lot longer, but I'm still kind of bitter because of the dislike list. But I can handle those! In my own way.
Because some of you guys maybe need some advice on some of the dislike-things list, I'm going to give you guys some tips, wether you like it or not >:D

There are 2 things people always say about this subject:
1. If you're being bullied, go to a teacher and tell them.
This doesn´t always work, because at some schools, the teachers and everyone are horrible and don't care at all or say that it´s your own fault.
2. You should just ignore bullies, then it´s no fun for them.
This doesn't always work either, because it can be incredibly hard or impossible to ignore them. And people who are being bullied know that very well.
I'm not saying these two solutions aren't good at all, I´m just saying that they don't work in every situation.
3. Stand up to them.
I agree mostly with this solution, standing up against bullies is one of the better ways to get rid of them. Most bullies are secretly big cowards, so when you show some back bone, they leave you alone. Altough, that's not always the solution either. Some bullies will just laugh at you and just continue

So here's my solution:
Bullies always have a reason why they start bullying. Here are some possible reasons:
-They want to feel better than everyone else.
-They were bullied before and want to prevent being bullied themselves
-They have problems at home like:
 1. A family member has a handicap (or the like)
 2. A sibling is bullying them and the younger one who bullies you thinks it's normal to do that.
 3. The parents hit them or never show love to their child.
 4. The child is spoiled very much because the parents don't have time for them.
 5. The parents (or one of them) are just big meanies (I don't know any other word for it without beginning to curse)
-They have mental problems
Too many to name them all.

About the fact that they want to feel better about themselves, here's a good tip:
Don't ignore them! In fact, you should give a sassy response when they say something to you. Laugh at how stupid they can be, make fun of them, show them what it feels like. Don't treat bullies like you're their slave, treat them like your enemy. They won't feel the rush of being in charge over you any more, so naturely, they'll quit making fun of you. It works with all bullies I've seen, trust me.
Then, about the people who have problems or who were bullied in the past. If you get to know them, they might actually be nicer than you expected. They have just as little self confidence as you do, and maybe you have a lot in common. You never know.

So if you're being bullied by anyone, don't let them get you. You're strong, beautiful, fantastic and unique, no matter what they say about you.

I could go on about the other dislike-things, but the blog post already is incredibly long. If you need advice on anything else, no matter what, it can be absolutely everything, tell me in the comments. Thanks for reading!

Stuffed Animals: By William D

Ok, guys, sorry it's been so darn long, but we've had a lot of stuff to do. Breanna was on a trip, I was taking care of my dad (XD) and Suzanne was busy as well. I hope you can forgive us! Anyways, stuffed animals have kept little children company for a long time. Some, maybe not, but most, yes XD. Well, I don't care if people say I'm to old for them, because I LOVE them so much. I still have a stuffed animal from when I was 2 XD It's a doggy! XD Anyways, stuffed animals have been there for children, during storms, nightmares, long trips, and sleepless nights. I name all my stuffed animals, except for the first one I got XD I still don't have a name for her. (At least I know it's a her XD )
Anyways, guys, I will go back to my logic posts next time! Also I was thinking of starting a crossover of Phoenix Wright and Percy Jackson. Tell me what you guys think :D until next time!!!!!

Opposing Viewpoints: Written by William D

Many people think that as soon as they are told something, they are correct! Now obviously that is a very foolish notion!
"Where there is no guidance people fall, but in abundance of counselors there is a victory." Proverbs 11:14

There are two benefits from looking at opposing viewpoints.
For one, but studying other viewpoints, we are better able to change ours if we're wrong! If we don't listen to other viewpoints, how are we to even begin to understand the subject? If we only listen to the things we agree to then we'll be shrouded in ignorance.
For another, by studying other viewpoints, we can help others understand us, and we can better defend our views!

No one can possibly listen to every single viewpoint, but it is best to try and broaden our horizons.
Ok, guys, I want you to try and think of two opposing view points for the following subjects ;)

1: Reasons for American Revolution.

2: Abortion (I do not want to start any religious or moral arguments. Ok?)

3: Homeschooling

4: Gun control

5: Creation of Life and the Universe

6: and finally Logic

 Thought about it? Alrighty!

1: The King of England's view and the Colonists view.

2: Pro-abortion and Anti-abortion.

3: homeschooling is bad for children. Homeschooling is good for children. ( :P )

4: Gun control advocates, and Second Amendment right advocates.

5: Creationists and Evolutionists.

6: Those who read The Fallacy Detective (and those who want to) and those who don't read The Fallacy Detective!

Alrighty guys! If you guys have any questions, leave them in the comments and don't forget to just chat:)

(Again, let's not start any arguments about moral stuff ok?)

Game Characters: By Suzanne Klare

Returning characters
Attention! Spoilers! Don't read if you don't want spoilers!
I've already talked two times about the upcoming AA game, and I thought, let's make it a third.
Today, I'm going to talk about the characters, who appeared in previous games, and made a comeback. Here's a list of them (random order):
Phoenix (DUH)
Edgeworth (YAY)

(Tell me in the comments if I missed someone)
I like that all these characters (who we know and love) are making a comeback. We get to see Pearl all grown up, a new version of Polly (Apollo), and Trucy comes back with her magic panties.

However, like I said, I follow court-records, and the spoiler forum (http://www.forums.court-records.net/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=27489) on it. Some people already played through the game (in Japanese), and gave their opinion. Sadly, most of the returning characters aren't handled well. We only see Trucy twice, and Pearls only helps explain about black psychelocks (don't ask, I don't know anything on that topic). And Klavier hasn't got a big part either. It's like they just wanted to put in some characters from previous games, to please the gamer, and then just let them appear once. I was kinda disappointed when I read that.

But, we just have to see for ourselves! Maybe it's not that bad after all, we'll just have to wait for the game and see.

Sill, I have a question about the returning characters. WHAT HAPPENED TO MAYA (and Gumshoe)?! Thanks guys:)

Natalie: Written by Victoria

You know how we have certain days of the year to celebrate special people. We have Mothers and Fathers day and so on and so forth. Well, I think we should have a day set aside for our Brothers and Sisters, to celebrate all of the things we've been through together and all of the memories that we share:) A day that we can all just hang out and have fun. Although we don't, I have set aside today to spend time with my older sister, Natalie. So todays blog post is dedicated to her, because she is such a wonderful person!

Here are some of my favorite pictures of her:
They were taken in Florida, the first being at Disneyland, and the rest of them at Daytona beach.
                                                         She is my BFFL!
I love my sister Natalie! She really has been there for me through thick and thin. To me, she is the best sister in the whole world. Although we have had our share of arguments (like most siblings do). We always get over it (most of the time). Natalie really is a cool sister to have. She's someone that I can count on to be there for me when I need her! She is a Kindhearted, Sweet, Brave, Pretty, Smart, and Loving person and I'm proud to call her my sister. So here is to Natalie (Nat to me) and to all of the good and bad times we've shared together and to the future, hoping that it is full of just as much fun and great memories!!!

More on Logic: Written by William D

I noticed the positive reaction my post on logic received so I'm going to continue them. The next chapter discusses the importance of listening! How can one know what he is disputing if he doesn't listen to the subject! "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man is he who listens" Proverbs 12:15 some people who love to listen may have the traits of humility, they will admit without grudge that many people have better ideas than them. He is quite interested in other people's opinions and he is willing to question himself.

So, are you guys ready for your test? Here are your options: A: This person loves to listen. B: That person hates to listen. C: Neither.

1: Gary: I know I'm right, I don't need to listen to you to try to convince me I'm not right!

2: Jerry: This music is way to loud! Please turn it down.

3: Jim: I need to stop listening to my friend Natt. I'm begging to care to much about his opinions. I can make my own decisions!

4 : Patty: I just have to many opinions, and I know I jabber about them to much! I need to listen more and except other people's opinions!

Have you thought about it? The answers are coming!

1: B: he obviously doesn't want to admit he could be wrong. He is just to prideful!

2: C: who wants to waist money on hearing aids at age 15!?!?!?!

3: B: his friend cares about him! He just doesn't want to listen.

4: A: she is trying to be humble and give others a chance to speak their opinions

There you go guys! See you in my next post;)

Dual Destinies released! By Suzanne Klare

I check the biggest Ace Attorney fansite every day, courtrecords.net. And a few days ago, I read something that made me scream and jump like a little girl. Dual Destinies finally came out! In Japan.
Still, I'm really happy!  This means the plot, the characters, the gameplay, it's finished! We just have to wait for an English translation :/
You guys know what this means, right? Spoilers! On court-records there's a forum that gives spoilers about the gameplay and plot of the game, and here's a link:
If you guys don't like spoilers, I'd recommend NOT to visit this website.
If you guys want to know more about the English release, you guys can check out
If you guys don't know the PW games and don't have any idea what I'm talking about...... I'm sorry :(

Good or Bad: How we affect one another: Written by Victoria

The Bible says in Proverbs, Chapter 25, Verse 11. A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. That means that we can either encourage and help the person that hears our words or discourage and destroy the person that the words are spoken to.

I'm going to give an example on how a persons words can really affect someone: I had a friend that had a Facebook and she was talking to this boy that she liked and was friends with on it. She had personally known this boy for years and they normally never fought, ( at least not around me). One day she decided, that she would relate to him how she had felt about him, by telling him that she liked him. He responded in the wrong way by saying, I don't like you and never will like you, so you should just go commit suicide. (There is more to what he said, but I'm not going to add any details).  After reading this, her heart broken, she did just that, she ended her life. Now lets look at it like this. What if that boy could have handled the situation in the right way and said, I don't have the same feelings towards you as you do me, I'd rather us just be friends. She might still be alive today. After finding out about her death, he was sorry, but it was to late.

What I am trying to say is, words are powerful. What we say to others can affect them either in a positive way or a negative way.

Now, you can do what ever you want with this, your words can either bring happiness or sadness, respect or disrespect, or in some cases like the one above life or death. Just remember all of the times that we have put a smile on someone's face and let us also recall the times when we have seen others walk away in tears, because of our choice of words. So let us let every word that comes out of our mouth be used with caution and kindness and at the very least our conscience will be clear.

The Mood Matrix Written by Suzanne Klare

Today, I'm going to talk about the upcoming Phoenix Wright game. If you have no idea who that is or simply just don't like the games, I warn you: this could be incredibly boring and confusing.

So the new game's main character is, once again, our good friend Phoenix Wright. After his name was cleared by Apollo, Phoenix decided to become a defense attorney again. THANK GOODNESS.

In the new game, Phoenix takes on cases with his new assistant, rookie lawyer Athena Cykes. She has a special talent: she can sense if a witness' emotions don't match up with the turn of events. For example: if the witness is the daughter of the murdered victim, and the witness saw the murder of her mother with her own eyes. If the witness was happy during this testimony. That would be really weird, right?

Athena has a device in her necklace (at least I think it's her necklace), that can sense the weird emotions during the testimony. If the previous example would happen in the PW game, Phoenix could point it out and get a new testimony.

I think the device has a lot in common with Apollo's bracelets. They both have to do with the witness' expressions, and they both don't count as real evidence, either. The bracelets are just for getting a new testimony or circumstantial evidence.

Personally I like The Mood Matrix system, because it's a new way to approach witness' testimonies. I just hope it will be as fun to use as I'm expecting it to be.

Well, that's it for today. If you have any opinions on the new Mood Matrix device, or something else regarding the game, just put it in the comments. If you guys just want to chat in the comments no problem:)

Logic Written by William D

My dad got me a very interesting book on Sunday. It's called "The fallacy Detective". A fallacy is a mistake, an error in logic! for example:

Dad: "People don't use their heads anymore..."
Son: "I use it all the time when I play soccer!" Now here, they are obviously talking about two different uses. The son has just used a fallacy! This book shows you how to use your deduction skills at a higher level, spot mistakes in logic (like Phoenix Wright), and think things through! So far it is quite interesting and engaging. Logic is the art of thought process and how to conduct those processes! I've read the first chapter so far, and I really like it :) Want to test your reasoning skills? I'll give you a small test.

Here are your options. A: This person does not wish to exercise their mind or they are afraid of the mental work. B: This person has a very inquisitive mind. C: None of the above.

1. Surfer: Hey, man. These waves are, like, so cool I just can, like, spend my life here, man.

2. Small child: I can't pick up my toys... I don't remember where they go.

3. Tom: Don't make me go into town to pick up groceries! There's a foot of snow fall since last night, and it will be a pain to shovel out the driveway again!

4. Merle: I like reading two different news papers which report the same event. That way I can see the issue from two different perspectives.

5. Nate: I hate going to the library, I always end up reading a ton and wasting time! But lets go anyways!

6. Benny: If I don't finish reading this book tonight, I'll have to pay the library a fine!

Thought about it? Well here are your answers!
1. A: There's more to life!
2. A: Kids can forget things when they want to...
